Senator Bill Brady issued a statement about a Fiscal Year 2013 budget plan presented May 23 by Senate Democrats.
“A vote for this budget is a vote for making the ‘temporary’ income tax increase permanent. The Senate Democrat plan spends more than the Governor is spending in the current fiscal year. In fact, this plan relies on yet another tax increase … I guess $7 billion more was not enough,” Senator Brady said.
“And why are they voting on a budget today when negotiations are ongoing about Medicaid reforms and cuts? This just shows the Democrat leaders’ inability to manage and make the tough decisions," he added.
