House Bill 4450 would terminate the heads, assistant heads, and deputy heads of executive State agencies who were nominated by the Governor between January 11, 1999, and January 29, 2009.
Senator Brady says he doesn’t believe the legislation would violate the constitutional authority of the Executive Branch.
“Governor Quinn will still have the opportunity to appoint a fresh set of individuals who have the skills and talents to take leadership roles on these boards and commission. And this is not to say that there are not people that Gov. Quinn can vet and decide to reappoint,” Senator Brady said. “But this requires everyone to be reexamined and reevaluated so we can do what we owe the people of Illinois, and that is to remove cloud of corruption – actual or perceived – that hangs over our state.”
